Palestinian Plastic Industries Union

The Union was founded in 1996 by a group of factory owners in the city of Ramallah and was officially registered with the Ministry of Economy as a non-governmental, non-profit organization under the name of the Palestinian Plastic Industries Union, which includes both parts of the country.

The Federation's primary goal is to provide assistance to its members in various aspects of life amidst the difficult circumstances facing the Palestinian people. It is a national institution dedicated to the plastics industry.

In early 2016, a preparatory committee formed by plastics companies in the Hebron Governorate worked to attract plastics industry owners. The number of members reached 170 factories in the West Bank and Gaza, employing over 10,000 workers. Our goal has always been to provide employment and reduce unemployment in Palestine. It was agreed to hold elections to establish a new federation administration based in the Hebron Governorate.

From then until 2018, the Federation was managed by a group of colleagues who worked diligently to develop and strengthen the Federation's role in improving the plastics industry. In 2018, the current Board of Directors was elected to lead Mr. Kamel Al-Zeer Al-Husseini, along with a number of colleagues in the West Bank and Gaza, to serve the members and follow up on their affairs with the aim of ensuring the provision of the best services to them, continuous communication with them, and coordinating efforts to advance the plastics industry to reach a competitive product locally, regionally, and globally. The Union’s management has contributed to providing many job opportunities for Palestinians, alleviating the burden of poverty and need for many families, and promoting the idea of the national product in the Palestinian market under the slogan “Made in Palestine.” It has also encouraged investment in the sector, contributed to raising the production capacity of the Palestinian product, developing a culture of quality, and creating mechanisms for cooperation between all institutions of the country
